Century House

This project involved extensively remodelling an existing 1940’s detached dwelling, to bring the outside in, and to create a wonderful new family home for the owners. With a nod to mid-century design, a simple palette of timber, concrete, brick and wood was used throughout the new areas, and into the existing house itself. Brass tones lightened the overall look and feel to give a touch of luxury to selected pieces and bespoke joinery. An expressed concrete canopy to the rear ties the extension into the external landscape, providing passive solar shading, as well as creating a dynamic architectural feature to the rear of the house.
