Texture everywhere – Featuring the mutinaceramics Celosia block used as a decorative screen, this kickstarted a long conversation about texture which carried on throughout the entire project. This project looked at the common challenges when opening up an existing semi-detached dwelling. Light, flow and functionality were key criteria to address, and the insertion of a central courtyard allowed us to open up the floorplan, and cluster rooms around a central lightwell. Colour and texture were the core themes that carried from the entrance hallway, up a curved stairwell and into a luxurious master suite. A transformative change to a common house typology, giving the owners a wonderfully vibrant and dynamic place to call home.
