A LINEAR EXPRESSION
An original terrazzo step, uncovered in the old recessed porch and ultimately restored, became the inspiration for this semi-detached extension for a growing family. Our brief was to
create something a little different, to celebrate the texture of the original facade, and to blend this with the clients love of colour. Raked plaster to the new masonry acts as a linear grain to counter the existing pebble dash, whilst horizontal bands of new plaster mirror quoins from the front elevation. The materials and textures, old and new, are tonally consistent to blend structures together, with contemporary detailing defining the different eras of the house.
