This project required the complete re-modelling of a city centre cluster of old shops, into contemporary apartments. The main challenge was getting as much light as possible into spaces and rooms that were difficult to rationalise.

The solution was to embrace the angular layouts and enhance them, inserting plywood like pods to contain the bedrooms, with the negative space forming a series of open plan living rooms.

Simple materials, and a clever use of light throughout has made a dramatic difference to give a series of highly reactive and interesting city centre apartments, appropriate for the bustling central location.
